Busy Weekend
If you've ever met my parents, you know that they have a disease. It's called gardening. And I caught it several years ago. Every year, they take a trip with the Dunkerton Garden Club up to the the Mennonite greenhouses near Alta Vista. I always go with them, because you can get plants for so much cheaper up there than you can here in town! The only difference this year is that I had to take Avery, since I'm still nursing and we've never given her a bottle. Anyway, I didn't know what to expect, but she did amazing. (As long as Mommy was within sight. :)) I just wore her in my sling, and she loved it! I was pretty excited about that, and about all the great flowers I got. Now I just need to find time to plant them...
I also discovered that I was almost out of baby food, so I spent the rest of my weekend trying to get some more food made and frozen. I've really been enjoying making Avery's food. It's a lot of fun! (And so much cheaper. And better tasting. :)) So far, she's tried bananas, avocados, peas, apples (not a huge fan!), sweet potatoes (her favorite), green beans (make her want to puke, literally), pears, and carrots. Some new things I made this time are mangoes, peaches, pumpkin, prunes, and I want to try some chicken soon. :)
Avery is still not rolling over, but I have noticed her rolling up onto her side several times in the past few days. She hasn't really done that before. Except maybe a couple times when she was really itty bitty. Maybe the first step in getting her to roll? She's also been sliding backward on her belly quite a bit. I know I should just enjoy this time now when she can't move very far, because before long, she'll be all over the place!
I don't have any pictures this post, mostly because I'm too lazy to get up and get my memory card. Next time. I promise. :)

Warmer Days
With the nice weather this week, I've been taking the babies outside more. On Tuesday, I took all three babies out on a walk. The girls rode in the wagon and I put Lelan in my sling. They all really like being outside. There is so much more to look at out there! I took Avery and Lelan out this afternoon, and we sat on a blanket. I gave Avery some dead leaves to play with. She had a lot of fun crinkling them all up. But boy did she get angry when Mommy took them away! It wore them out too; they both took awesome naps after that. :)
We're still working on solid foods with Avery. So far she just doesn't really care for them, and will only eat maybe a tablespoon or so at a time. She really like rice cereal. She's tried oatmeal, and will eat it, but prefers the rice. She will usually eat sweet potatoes and green beans, but apples are disgusting. They get spit out. A lot. And she makes awful faces. I've said that before, but these are extra awful faces.

Happy Resurrection Day!
Today is the day our Savior rose from the grave! I am so thankful that He died for me; He paid the price for my sins. Thank you Jesus. If you don't know Jesus in a personal way, find a bible-believing church and find out more!

We went to the Easter service at church this morning. (Which I only got to hear about half of, thanks to a certain pretty little girl.) We then went to my Grandma & Grandpa's house for lunch with the Platte side. I think Avery enjoyed seeing everyone (even if not everyone could touch her :)). She especially likes seeing my Grandma. She always smiles at her when Great-Grandma smiles and makes faces and laughs in front of her. :)

On the Move
As I mentioned before, Avery has figured out how to move herself around by pushing herself backwards on her tummy. She's been doing it more the last few days. And these are the kinds of places she ends up, now that she's mobile:

What Mom? You can't believe I can move around already? You just wait...
She usually starts out in the middle of the room, and has made it to both ends so far! She also pushes herself up every once in a while, you know, in a semi-crawling position. Yikes! Before I know it this baby will be everywhere!
She kept lifting her head up to peek out the window. :)
